An awesome wine from New Zealand

Danielle reviews the Talisman Crossroads - a new red wine from Hawkes Bay, New Zealand that set her heart racing!

Crossroads Talisman 2010

After enjoying a bottle of this for Sunday lunch yesterday, I felt compelled to share my thoughts...

It's always a mystery as to exactly what the blend is that makes up this Hawkes Bay wine. It's the winemaker's closely guarded secret, but that just adds to the multiple layers of intrigue!

Rich, dark and seamless with sweetness of blackcurrant fruit balanced by earthy hints, baking spice and fine, grainy polished tannins (typical of this much acclaimed region) that tie it all together.

I enjoyed it with beef but it will take on any red meat beautifully.

Admittedly the price tag of £21.25 makes it a special occasion wine, but Easter is just around the corner...
