40 hectares, 2 properties, 200,000 bottles production per year. Piemonte families all related. Jeff Chilcott, a kiwi worked here for 14 years. 3 different Barbaresco, all should be 100% grape but now doing some blending. Family owned.

Single vineyard wines, one of the first in Piemonte. There's been a lot of changes in last 10 -15 years.

- Nebbiolo new clones within the estate
- Truffle area a lot of white truffles
- Dolcetta, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay

2011 was an early harvest, by 2 and a half weeks!
First vintage 1973, all grapes hand harvested, all white grapes destemmed. One year, 41 days ferment for the Dolcetto!

Quite a bit of new french oak, demi muid (2 and half barriques) used.

Sauvignon Blanc Langhi 2011
Blend of three different sites, N.S.E facing vineyards. Restrained nose, tropical ,candied pineapple. High altitude, cooler conditions, on the lees 3-4 months. Creamy texture, citrus. Fresh, vibrant, very green as bottled just a month ago. Location specific, quite minerally, slightly spicy.

Barrel Fermented Chardonnay Gresy Langhe 2009
Oranges, honey, tangerine,s loads going on! 1983 vines! Beautiful colour, butterscotch, vanillla, spice, creamy tangerine spice, toasty. 4500 bottles production. YUM! Can we stock please?!

Nebbiolo 2011
(Chilled for one hour) Mocha, spice, fruit, lovely fresh summer red fruits, good grip, food wine. Tannins quite present in this vintage. Approachable wine, fermented onthe skins for just a couple of days.

Barbera/Nebbiolo Villa Martis 2009 (blended wine)
65% Barbera, 35% Nebbiolo, 12-14 months old oak barrique ageing, not a lot imparted. Only bottled a few weeks ago. Restrained nose, interesting, quite chewy tannins although a bit of spice, maybe a bit of bottle shock, not showing that well in my opinion. A bit disjointed.

Barbera d'Asti Monte Colombo 2007
Relatively warm vintage. High density, low yield, replanted 1998, single vineyard. Big concentration of ripe fruit, mocha, sweet pastry nose, fab palate, big concentration, rich, elegant, chunky but great body. 12 months oak, 40% new oak.

Barbaresco "Martinenga" 2008
Very perfumed and floral, elegant, concentrated palate. Spicy, great acididty and really fresh and powerful! Very balanced lovely integration. Fab!

Barbaresco "Martinega" 2007
Sweeter fruit, riper vintage, vanilla, very expressive, rich, meaty on the back palate, aniseed, fennel, great acidity and tannins has great keeping qualities.

"Camp Gros" Cru 2006
On Martinega, which is the hill behind the winery. Still ripe sweet fruit, spicy, earthy, quite minerally, earthy chewy tannins, more tannic than the other wines. 

Barbaresco Gajun Martinega 2006
Picked very late - 1st october. Still very fresh, ripe fruit, still great finesse and elegance, great balance.  Ripe but chewy tannins. Excellent.
