In my opinion, it is well worth trading up to this wine from it's younger brother, Dourosa. The wine spends 5 months maturing in old French barrels, which softens the wine rather than adds flavour. The result is a seriously smooth and attractive glass of red that is rich and full bodied with bright fruit, a wild herby character and elegance right through to the finish. A versatile food wine, but you won't go far wrong with roast beef!
