All courses are hosted following COVID secure measure and are limited to six people.

Who is the course aimed at?

  • Those with little of no previous knowledge who would like a sound but simple level of product knowledge either to assist with work within hospitality, retail or wholesale or simply for their own interest in the subject.
Topics covered in the course include:
  • Factors that influence wine style
  • Characteristics, style and quality of principle grape varieties
  • Key countries and regions
  • Sparkling wine methods and styles produced in key countries
  • Sweet and fortified wine methods and styles produced in key countries
  • Storage, selection and service of wine
  • WSET Level 2 systematic approach to tasting (approx 46 wines to taste)
How long is the course?
  • Three full days or seven evening sessions (see available courses below)
  • Minimum of 10 hours home study is required
  • At the end of the course there is a 60 minute closed book multiple choice official examination 

When can I study?

  • Seven session evening course: Tuesday 16th February, Tuesday 23rd February, Tuesday 2nd March, Tuesday 9th March, Tuesday 16th March, Tuesday 23rd March + Tuesday 30th March (6:30pm - 9:30pm)

Course fees?

  • £365 - this includes a study pack, wine samples, tuition, examination and certificate.
