Yealands Esate, Awatere Valley

We met Peter Yealands, pioneer of sustainability in Marlborough and "a bloke for all seasons". At the new winery, built in 2008 under the carbon zero program, all wines are carbon neutral. Much of the vineyard is planted for sustainability, dams and re-introduction of native species of plants and birds all adds up to a pretty environmentally friendly set up.
Yealands Single Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2011
Ripe nose of guava, passion fruit, elderflower and gooseberry. Great mouthfeel, zesty and fresh, zingy finish.

Yealands Estate Pinot Gris 2010
Ripe spicy pear fruits, good minerality and great textured mouthfeel. Lovely spicy elegant finish, just how Pinot Gris should be.
