If you’re looking for a red to rival the big names of the Rhone, then Cairanne is it. There’s a real buzz about this small village and that’s because it was recently awarded ‘cru’ status elevating its quality to the likes of Chateauneuf du Pape. This particular wine is named ‘les six’ as it includes all six red varieties (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Counoise & Carignan) permitted to be grown in the village. The result is a stunning rich blend, full of peppery red and black fruits with a silky smooth mouthfeel and memorable finish.
Drink with herby lamb or grilled meat and roasted vegetables.
