Chateau Argadens was bought by Maison Sichel in 2002, with the simple aim to become one of the benchmark properties in the Bordeaux Superieur category (wines made from classic Bordeaux grape varieties but of a superior quality to generic Bordeaux wines). To achieve this, the company put a vast renovation programme in place and now, not surprisingly, the wines achieve consistently high marks in tastings and competitions.
Unlike Chateau Argadens red, this white is produced in small quantities. Efforts to bring out the very best of an outstanding terroir have yielded a wine of greater complexity and depth than in previous vintages. A classic blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Semillon. Fresh and expressive on the nose with pink grapefruit, mango and slightly toasted hints. Excellent balance on the palate, fresh and fruity with great length.
