When the grapes reach the right point of maturation they are carefully picked by hand and taken to the winery immediately to avoid any spoilage of quality. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and then matured for 8 months on the lees with regular stirring (to increase the texture and taste).
Nose: Pretty aromas of floral and key lime pie.
Palate: Crisp and zingy start, there is an abundance of citrus fruit flavours throughout and a lovely textural mouthfeel. The finish is long and eventually leaves the palate clean and fresh.
Conclusion: Amazing freshness achieved from such a hot region. Would make a delicious aperitif.
Fact: Cartuxa is one of the oldest wineries in Portugal. Foral means: Royal Decree.
