Widely regarded as one of Italy’s greatest wine producing families, Gaja have been growing vines and making wines for five generations and the quality is such that they were described as ‘perhaps the finest Italian wines ever made’ by Wine Spectator.
Pieve Santa Restituta is located next to the picture postcard hilltop town of Montalcino, in an area surrounded by hills and dense woods. The property’s entire 40 acres have been dedicated to Sangiovese, perhaps the most well-known of the indigenous Italian grape varieties where the soil, altitude and lush topography provide ideal growing conditions.
Pieve Santa Restituta’s signature wine. Expressive cherry, plum and herbal characters conjure up the picture postcard Tuscan countryside. The 2014 vintage shows botanical notes and fresh fruity aromas of sage, rosemary, red currant and pomegranate, followed by complimentary notes of clove and incense. Fantastic paired with roast meats, wild game and hard cheeses.
