Widely regarded as one of Italy’s greatest wine producing families, Gaja have been growing vines and making wines for five generations and the quality is such that they were described as ‘perhaps the finest Italian wines ever made’ by Wine Spectator.
From vineyards in Treiso and in Serralunga. 2017 was a vintage of very low quantities but with beautiful concentration of fruit, structure and acidity. Dried sweet flowers, chestnut honey on the nose. Crunchy notes of pomegranate and blueberry, along with fresh savoury aromas, lead to a long-lasting finish characterised by good minerality. The wine has a charming and juicy body, harmony and freshness with ripe and silky tannins.
