Named ‘No 1’ because this is the pinnacle for Hexamer. Owner and winemaker Harald handpicks relatively late to ensure a rich, textural and ripe style. The nose has pronounced rich citrus fruit, honey and some spice. To taste it’s verging on off-dry with juicy clementine fruit but with waxy mouthfeel and minerality. Great concentration and incredible depth for a Riesling from start to finish. Although drinking well now, particularly with pork belly or raclette, it will keep for at least 5 years.
