“One of our longstanding Italian producers has found a small parcel of magnums in their cellar that are two vintages behind the current release. They have offered them to us at an amazing price, so we’re passing on the discount… if you can find a better deal at the moment I would like to see it!” – Philip Amps.

Wine from the beautiful d’Annona vineyard in the Monferrato Hills, right in the heart of the best area for Barbera d’Asti. The vines are properly mature at 60 years old, producing great quality fruit and a sublime, opulent wine that has mellowed for 20 months in French oak barrels.
A ripe, intense aroma of cherry, spice and savoury aromas, leads to a silky smooth palate of sour cherry, herbs, leather and floral, violet notes. Impressive concentration with good structure, opulent black cherry fruit and sweet ripe tannins. The finish provides some refreshing acidity and lingering notes of dark chocolate and spices.
Perfect with red meats from the BBQ, especially steak or lamb cutlets.
