From the “Achalde” vineyard, in Ollauri, in the heart of the Rioja Alta. One of the first vineyards of this variety planted in Rioja at an altitude of 550 meters with clay-limestone soil. Hand harvested on September 16th 2020.
Tempranillo Blanco is a lucky whim of nature, a spontaneous mutation of Tempranillo that appeared in 1988. They share precocity in maturation and a marked sensitivity to diseases of the vine.
Fermented in oak barrels and matured in oak for 7 months before release.
Aromas of vivid and intense fruit, a touch of pineapple -a note that characterizes this variety- and a spicy contribution from the wood. Unctuous, with aromatic volume, tasty and a very long finish. An example of the potential of this grape in a measured balance with the fine-grained oak.
Only 600 bottles produced.
