Vondeling meaning ‘foundling’ lies on the slopes of the Paardeberg Mountain, around 45 minutes’ drive from Cape Town. It was granted to Swedish immigrant Oloff Bergh in 1704, and a three-centuries-old winemaking tradition began.
A powerful red wine that expresses the unique terroir of Paardeberg mountain. Stick your nose into the glass and you’ll find red cherries, cinnamon, cigar box and warm vanilla. It’s really rich to taste, packed with dark cassis, red fruit, more smoky notes and roasted almonds. Pair with slow cooked red meats or steak with a peppercorn or mushroom sauce.
