Wildehurst Wines is a boutique cellar in the small town of Koringberg, Swartland, South Africa. Owner Joanne Hurst and winemaker Sheree Nothnagel produce handcrafted wines made with minimal intervention from selected sites in the Swartland, that never disappoint when it comes to quality. This Chenin Blanc is part of their premium range. Grapes were harvested from 30 year-old bush vines, then barrel fermented with wild yeast in old 225L French oak barrels. After fermentation the wine was matured on the lees for a further six months before bottling. The result is a complex, layered wine with citrus blossom and lemony tones on the nose, followed through with a sweet, mineral backbone and floral notes.
