Calvados, which like Cognac and Armagnac, gets its name from the place it is made in and is an apple brandy. Calvados, the region, is in northern France and part of Normandy which is very well known for its fruit. Calvados is often made with many different varieties of apples, sometimes up 100 types, sweet, bitter and tart. This one is approximately 3 years old (in barrel) and being quite young shows fresh apple tastes.
