When Philip Amps visited Lawson’s Dry Hills winery in New Zealand’s famous Marlborough wine region this wine really caught his eye.
Ranu 2023 is produced in tiny quantities. It’s a field blend of Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and Riesling, which all goes in the press together, followed by a slow fermentation. This is produced along the lines of an Alsace Gentil and only in exceptional years… 2023 is only the third bottling! A delicious aromatic nose, intensen and lovely mouthfeel and a very long finish.
