Quinta do Alorna, dating back to the 18th century, sits majestically in the Tejo region. Portugal’s trump card is its wide array of indigenous grape varieties and one of those, Touriga Nacional, is put to work here. Aromas of black cherries, garrigue herb and balsamic. The palate is dark, juicy with ripe damson fruit flavours and a hint of coffee bean. Seriously good value Portuguese wine here! Food-wise, this is excellent with Italian cuisine, duck and mild cheeses.
