An Amphora is a series of wines from the Zahel family – each year a single handmade 320 litre clay amphora is devoted to Riesling, Gruner Veltliner or Gemischter Satz (a wine made from a variety of grapes grown, harvested and fermented together). The wines are vinified biodynamically according to Demeter (biodynamic) guidelines with minimal intervention and offer the longest maceration contact in the Zahel portfolio.
This wine is absolutely stunning – very seductive aromas and its texture means it rolls around the mouth beautifully. Produced from 65 year old Gruner Veltliner vines in a single vineyard, Ried Goldberg, in the southeast of Vienna.
