Agricola Marrone has been producing outstanding wines in Piemonte for four generations. The third and fourth generations run the estate today and take every care to ensure the quality of their wines… the grapes are even hand picked into small boxes and transported to the winery on sleds to avoid them being bounced about on the back of a trailer! The wines reflect perfectly their terroir but are, at the same time supremely drinkable lacking the aggressive tannins of so many wines from the region.
This is the top wine of the Agricola Marrone production, made in very limited amounts only, it represents the personality of their winemaking. It’s got fabulous long ageing potential too, if you’re looking for a wine to keep for a special occasion. Pure raspberry nose with hints of mint and oregano followed by a silky, elegant palate of fresh blueberry, aniseed, leather and tobacco notes carried by gorgeous sweet acidity. Very long finish. Best with game, red meats or other strongly flavoured dishes.
