A difficult vintage with the full spectrum of weather conditions. A few areas suffered from hail damage in May, and a generally humid Spring encouraged mildew. Then extremely hot temperatures in July & August with hardly any rain caused some stress…and finally there have been heavy downpours over the past week. Phew! But despite all of this, the harvest began early on Friday 29th August, and the team at Château de Belleverne are hard at work, dodging the rain to bring in grapes of quality. Yields may be lower than usual, but the quality is still high.
